The southwestern entry to the Park. Snowmobile capital of the Northeast in winter and the gateway to the Fulton Chain of Lakes in summer. Old Forge has been a tourist town since the late 1800s when the railroads first ran out from Utica, and the town hasn’t lost that resort-town feel. The drive out is long (1 hr 20 min) and the route on Route 28 winds through some of the most scenic parts of the western Park.
