Description
In a hospital waiting room, a contagious mystery illness spreads from patient to patient. It starts with a simple itch, but soon, everyone is twitching, jerking, and convulsing uncontrollably. Just when the chaos reaches its peak, a “pregnant” person strolls in, causing everyone to flee in terror.
Script
(Person A enters, scratching absentmindedly. They grab a magazine and try to read, but the itching keeps interrupting. They shift uncomfortably in their seat, scratching different spots.)
Nurse: (cheerfully) “The doctor will see you shortly.” (walks off briskly.)
(A keeps itching. After a moment, Person B enters with a serious hand twitch. They sit next to A, twitching frequently. A side-eyes B but says nothing.)
(Gradually, B starts to scratch as well. A looks confused and then notices their own hand twitching slightly. They both stare at their own bodies in horror.)
(Person C enters, limping in with a serious leg twitch. They sit down and try to stay still, but soon, their hand starts twitching too. A and B, now fully afflicted with all three symptoms, glance at each other in silent realization.)
(Person D bursts in, shaking every muscle. The whole room starts moving like an out-of-sync dance routine, as everyone’s body goes completely haywire. They flail, twitch, bounce, and jerk uncontrollably.)
(Just as the chaos peaks, Person E enters, walking smoothly and calmly. They cradle their belly like a pregnant person and take a seat, completely unbothered.)
(Instantly, the four afflicted patients freeze. They exchange panicked looks. Without a word, they leap up and scramble out of the waiting room as if their lives depend on it.)
(Person E shrugs and picks up a magazine, completely unfazed.)
End scene.
Notes for Performance:
• Exaggerate the physical comedy—gradual build-up makes the finale funnier.
• The timing of each person’s reaction to “catching” the symptoms is key for comedic effect.
• The final moment should be played as a dramatic, horror-movie-style exit.
